Company History
History
Alert-Tech Systems, Inc. was established in 1980 in Valdosta, Georgia by Robert C. Winter III, who at that time worked as chief photographer for The Valdosta Daily Times. Security Alarm Services, the first name of Alert-Tech, was a part-time business to supplement his main income.
The business developed rapidly and required more a more business-like approach. Lucian Holtzendorff, a good friend of Robert C. Winter III, and who had just received his Masters’ degree in Business Administration, helped to turn the small security business into the leading security company in the South Georgia and North Florida areas, which provides reliable and professional security services for both residential and commercial clients.
Philosophy
From the first installation in late 1979, the philosophy of Alert-Tech was to provide a complete perimeter detection system, with features of convenience such as door shunt switches to admit and let guests or animals out without actually disarming the system. Our goal was to design a system that would address concerns about “that window” or “that door” by including every opening into the protective loop (attic, basement, garage door, even crawl space doors.
Mission
- We must educate the public that a quality alarm system cannot be bought for pocket change. It’s a laborious effort on the part of the security consultant, and the technicians to design and properly install each system for each kind of home and business. We must demonstrate that security is an investment on the level of a quality home refrigerator or a stove, but with a much greater life safety benefit to the family.
- We distance ourselves from promotional alarm companies that do little to provide life safety for their customers and we endeavor to educate the public about the dishonest procedures that they employ.
- We emphasize life safety as the goal of our security systems.
- We strongly stress that every home have smoke and fire detection as a part of its fully monitored security system.
